PROJECT

We fight energy poverty by bringing electricity to La Cañada Real in an affordable, safe and sustainable way for the most vulnerable people, who have lived without this basic necessity since October 2020.

SYNERGY

The social entity Light Humanity receives financial support from various companies, and outreach support with the solidarity collaboration of Impact Hub in fundraising and communications outreach.

I see it as like a magic carpet that changed our life quite a bit. We now have light at home, you get rid of the engine noise and the smell of gasoline, it gives you peace of mind.

The kids can study properly, you can run the washing machine, the fridge, you can buy meat and freeze it… lots of things change.

We're proposing a solution with a photovoltaic installation with storage to guarantee an alternative to supply cuts. It's a satisfaction to see it works and that they're happy because they have power 24 hours a day. We're looking for allies along the way to be able to, together, support this community that really needs it.

PROJECT ACTIONS

Cañada Solar fights the extreme energy poverty suffered by hundreds of families in La Cañada Real, betting on clean solar panel energy and fostering the participation and training of La Cañada residents in its installation and maintenance, so that it also becomes a career guidance opportunity. We add citizen solidarity to the project through the fundraising campaign La Otra Lotería (The Other Lottery).
