2030 AGENDA GOALS
REQUIP is a digital inclusion program driven by United Way España together with Asociación Cultural Kalle, carried out in Madrid, both at its headquarters and in collaboration with social entities such as Secretariado Gitano. It is aimed at women with diverse profiles—migrants, young women, older women, mothers or Roma women—who share a low level of digital literacy and participate in social and labor insertion processes.
In an increasingly digitalized context, the lack of access to technology and basic digital skills is a significant barrier to employment, training and access to essential services. This gap especially affects women in vulnerable situations, whose autonomy may be limited by digital inequality. The project is carried out through monthly workshops in which, with the support of volunteers, participants acquire basic digital skills from scratch. Each session works as a practical introduction to computer use, covering everything from basic aspects to everyday online tasks. The delivery of refurbished computers from the Reutiliza K initiative allows participants to continue learning at home. In this way, REQUIP combines digital inclusion and the circular economy, generating both social and environmental impact.
The project’s goal is for digitalization to stop being a barrier and become a tool that fosters autonomy, access to opportunities and the personal and professional development of the participating women.
REQUIP integrates digital inclusion within social and labor insertion processes, so that the acquisition of technological skills directly contributes to improving participants’ employability and autonomy.
The project combines access to technology—through the delivery of refurbished computers—with close human support, facilitated by volunteers, allowing learning adapted to each woman’s pace and needs.
It also incorporates a social and environmental impact approach through the reuse of computer equipment via Reutiliza K, promoting a circular economy model.
