2030 AGENDA GOALS
Top Scientists is a national competition promoted by Fundación 3M, aimed at students in the 3rd and 4th years of ESO (lower secondary), 1st year of Bachillerato (upper secondary), and basic vocational training programs in Spain. Its goal is to foster interest in science and applied innovation among young people, promoting solutions that improve people’s lives and their environment. The program aims to be a catalyst for young talent, promoting a culture of innovation and social commitment from the classroom.
Participating pairs present scientific or technological projects that address social or environmental challenges. Proposals are evaluated for their originality, applicability and potential impact. Finalists receive mentoring and take part in a national phase where they present their ideas to an expert panel.
Awakening scientific vocations at key ages, fostering creativity and critical thinking through science, promoting teamwork and the resolution of real problems, and connecting young people with professionals in the scientific and technological field are the main goals of this program, which has been repeated every year since 2022. Educational centers, corporate volunteers and public bodies in the education sector at both regional and national level are key to increasing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) vocations.
Since we participated and received this award we see the world differently, because now we are aware that science is the most valuable tool to improve people's lives.
